Make someone’s day and it’ll make YOURS!

I love the way the laws of the Universe work because they are true, indeed. You’ve heard the phrases before: Pay it forward, Give in order to receive, Extend a kindness and one will be done unto you. Yes, yes, yes – they are indeed the truth! The converse is also true, however. If you are selfish,...

Meet Laura

Laura Morales is the founder of Energize Your Outlook, an appropriate name for her business, as she is blessed to have a lot of energy and always seems to have a positive outlook on life. She is often referred to as “lighting up a room with her presence and bringing new life to an otherwise dull environment”.

Laura is passionate about people and about helping others. She believes that there are no coincidences in life. Indeed, it was a life-changing childhood experience in the sixth grade at Sharp Elementary in Brownsville, Texas that had a monumental impact on her life’s purpose to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

She came into this world as somewhat of an accident. Her parents thought they were not going to have any more children after the birth of their third child. However, low and behold, Anna Laura Ochoa (her birth name), was born just in time so that her parents could claim her as a tax deduction for that year. She came to be known as the “income tax child”. Laura grew up in the lower Rio Grande Valley of south Texas, and after graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas with a degree in business and a minor in Spanish, she moved to Houston to begin a career in the rapidly changing telecommunications industry.

Laura spent 22 successful years working for AT&T and Sprint in a variety of positions including retention and high growth sales management, support management, marketing and international business development. In 2005, Laura decided to strike out on her own. When deciding on exactly what she wanted to do, she felt strongly that her business needed to be “people centric” because it was through people and relationships that she had built over the years that fueled the energy and success she experienced in her telecom career. Hence, Energize Your Outlook was established. The business initially focused primarily on coaching individuals and teams for leadership and professional development, and has since evolved into more motivational speaking and training in the area of networking and interpersonal communication skills. She loves what she does!

Not only does she bring a wealth of knowledge and understanding to her clients, she provides a level of professionalism and enthusiasm that is rarely seen. From a personal side, Laura has a soft spot in her heart for motivating young, Hispanic girls to stay in school and get a college education. She credits her mother, aunts and grandmother for encouraging her to do well in school and obtain a college degree. It would be the ticket to a better life, and it certainly has provided many, many opportunities for her that she might not otherwise have had.

Laura is also active in her community. She is the Co-Chairman for the Connect Subcommittee and the Secretary for the Membership Committee in the Women’s Business Enterprise Alliance (WBEA). She is a Special Projects Committee member of The Professional Group (TPG) Houston. Laura also served as Treasurer on the Board of Directors for Harris County, Texas, Protective Services for Children and Adults for two of three years in which she served on that voluntary board. Additionally, she was a working active member of the Houston Junior Woman’s Club volunteering time and service to Texas Children’s Hospital, Ronald McDonald House and Bayou Bend.
